Library Services

Franklin Road Academy has two libraries to serve the needs of students and teachers.

Lower School Library

Settle onto the magic carpet to hear stories around our reading tree. Hear the presentation of an author visiting our campus. Participate in our creatively themed Read-a-thon each spring, which encourages students to set and reach individual reading goals.

Through special events in the Lower School library we hope to bring the world of books to life. Each day we strive to help our young readers grow with selections tailored to all stages of reading abilities.

Classes have a scheduled library period each week. Students are encouraged to come on their own to the library to check-out books as needed. We support classroom curricula and special research projects with our 12,000-volume collection of books and media.

Middle and Upper School Library

The L.M. Crockett Library and Technology Center for Middle and Upper School is an inviting place full of activity.

Students can browse over 15,000 print and audio-visual holdings during the school day and access the card catalog and databases from both school and home.

The library subscribes to several online services, which provide students with access to reference works and current magazines and newspapers for research and support for their course work. The librarians strive to make the library a place where students will feel at home, whether they are researching, collaborating, or just pausing from their busy day to rest, pleasure read, or work on the current puzzle. The library has flexible scheduling for both Middle and Upper School students for book checkout. Teachers also bring their classes for group research.
