Curriculum

Academic disciplines in the Middle School consist of mathematics, humanities, science, and foreign language.

In grades 6, 7, and 8, advanced mathematics classes are offered and include Advanced Math 6, Pre-Algebra 7, Algebra I, and Algebra I Honors.

Humanities are taught in two courses throughout Middle School as Humanities-Literature and Humanities-History. In those courses there is a significant focus to develop writing skills, supported by content instruction, with attention to vocabulary acquisition and basic concepts of grammar.

Science courses combine life science, chemistry, and physical science with advanced science offered in 8th grade.

Students in grades 5 and 6 are exposed to each foreign language in an enrichment wheel. Students in 7th and 8th grades may choose from Spanish, French, and Latin and commit to a two year course of study.
