Why FRA

FRA is a coeducational, independent school, offering students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12 an exceptional educational experience within an inclusive Christian community, all on one campus. We value a well-rounded student experience, and our intentional class size allows students to fully engage in the classroom while competing at a high athletic level or perfecting an art form.

Academic Excellence

CJ FayneEach year, 100 percent of our graduates are accepted to four-year colleges and universities. Our expert faculty challenge our students to think critically in an ever-changing world. Our students go to college confident in their abilities to tackle the most challenging problems, communicate effectively using a variety of media, and ask challenging questions of their own.

"I feel prepared for my first year of college because FRA has taught me what it takes to succeed when challenges arise. I know I am going to have times where I may be overwhelmed academically, but I also know that I am very prepared to take on those tasks." - CJ Fayne '17; Notre Dame '21

Inclusive Christian Community

child prayingAs an inclusive Christian community, we welcome families from all faith backgrounds. We are inclusively Christian, not by who we admit, but by who we hire to lead and instruct our students. Our spiritual life department plays an integral part in offering meaningful opportunities for students to learn from and be in service to God and others.

"We don't have to have the word Christian in our name; it is evident in our faith. We are defined by how we treat each other." Annadele Barnes '16

Big Enough, Small Enough

students talking with teacherAt FRA, we are big enough to offer students all of the academic and co-curricular options and small enough that our students are known by each other, faculty and staff members, and parents. We encourage our students to take risks and discover their passions, and our students are able to succeed in the classroom while also competing on our athletic teams, starring in major arts productions, and participating in numerous clubs and other leadership opportunities.

With a student teacher ratio of 7:1 and a division-specific advisory program, our students are known on both an academic and personal level by their teachers.

"There are endless opportunities waiting to be taken. At FRA, there are no rules or boundaries as to what students can accomplish, and every club, classroom, stage, and lunch table comes with open arms and a smile." Yasamine Mousavi '17

Coeducation

coed preschoolA coeducational setting prepares students for the real world. We believe educating males and females together allows students to be more confident expressing their views, collaborating, and learning from each other in a positive, meaningful way.

Coeducation also helps break down misconceptions and provides a realistic view of life beyond FRA. Students have a better understanding of the diversity in our society and are prepared to succeed in the workplace as confident individuals as they take their places naturally in the wider community.

"I love that FRA offers a coeducational experience. I feel it's important for males and females to learn how to interact as friends and coworkers, and it is easier to do that when you are in that environment on a daily basis." Alison Bueschen, parent of an FRA alumnus

Pre-Kindergarten Through Grade 12

Class of 2017 membersFrom an academic perspective, a pre-kindergarten through grade 12 experience allows us to align our curriculum and educational philosophy throughout all divisions. Therefore, there are no educational gaps as our students leave one division and begin another.

FRA is more than a school; it is a community. No matter the ages of your children, they will be on one campus from the time they start pre-kindergarten until they graduate, allowing them to grow lasting friendships in a nurturing, supportive environment. Our younger students are able to get to know older students, who, in turn, recognize the importance of being a role model.

Families are the most important part of our community. Along with our students, parents are also able to forge friendships as their children start and finish their education at FRA.

"These are people I don't just want my child to go to school with; these are families I want to do life with." Heather Maki, FRA parent

Diverse Learning Environment

FRA is a diverse learning environment, where students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12 from 15 different countries learn together in a dynamic, collaborative setting. As the world becomes more global, we know our students benefit from diversity of thought, opening themselves up to new ideas, perspectives, and experiences.

We also recognize that students have various learning styles, and we offer programs that support students with learning differences as well as those who are accelerated to ensure every student reaches their academic potential.

"FRA taught me so much about personal responsibility, integrity, hard work, and most of all, excellence. I was always encouraged to do and be my best and to not settle for mediocre effort even when things turn out differently than you envisioned.
