Retreats at FRA give students time and space to grow in their faith and to go deeper in their relationships with one another.

Beginning of the year grade level retreats are held before or during the first few weeks of the school year to cultivate community outside of the normal day at FRA. Grades and locations for these retreats are below:

  • 4th Grade Leadership Retreat: on campus in the upper school
  • 5th and 6th Grade Retreat: Camp Widjiwagan on Percy Priest Lake
  • 7th and 8th Grade Retreat: Deer Run Retreat
  • 9th Grade Retreat: an overnight retreat held at Barefoot Republic Camp in Fountain Run, Kentucky
  • 10th Grade Retreat: Cook Day Use Area on Percy Priest Lake
  • 11th Grade Retreat: Cummins Falls outside of Cookeville, Tennessee
  • 12th Grade Retreat: an overnight retreat held at Barefoot Republic Camp in Fountain Run, Kentucky

The Junior Theme Verse Retreat takes place in April and is a day retreat that allows the future senior class to begin intentionally thinking about their final year of high school and the legacy they hope to leave. During this retreat, students choose a Bible verse they hope represents and challenges their class and the school community as a whole during the following school year.

The Senior Trip is the culmination of these retreats and a conclusion to the Campus and Spiritual Life at FRA. This retreat is a four-day trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, where seniors get the opportunity to reflect on their FRA experience, be encouraged by faculty as they head into a new stage of life, and fellowship with one another for a final time prior to graduation festivities.
