Vocal Music

Franklin Road Academy's Choral/Vocal Music Department is a vibrant showcase of talented musicians. The students involved in FRA's Choral Music Department reflect the entire student body. Many of FRA's top academic students, athletes, and student government leaders have a common bond in exploring and enjoying vocal music. FRA students successfully compete individually in highly competitive regional and state events; approximately 150 students in grades 5-12 are involved in the program each year. Several of our graduates are currently studying and performing music in colleges throughout the country as vocal and performing arts majors.

FRA Choirs are frequently invited to perform in the greater Nashville community. The Vocal Ensemble also travels throughout the United States, performing in New York City at St. John's the Divine Cathedral, at the base of the Statue of Liberty, and at Festival Disney. The Vocal Ensemble has recorded a PBS special, opened for a renowned country music artist at the Ryman Auditorium, and opened for Opryland's Rockettes Music City Christmas Spectacular at the Opry House. Most recently, the Upper School Vocal Ensemble sang the National Anthem at a Vanderbilt Men's Basketball game, and both Upper School choirs performed in March, 2011 on the U.S. S. Missouri at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii.
