Curricular Offerings
Spiritual life is woven intentionally as part of the curricular offerings in the Middle and Upper Schools. Through both required and elective course offerings, our students can deepen their faith and broaden their understanding as follows:
Lower School
During the school year, lower school students experience a systematic approach to walking through the Bible where major Biblical themes and stories are explored. Each month, the entire lower school focus on a specific theme directly tied to one of FRA's spiritual life core values of faith, relationships, and accountability. Additionally, students have a memory verse that reinforces the monthly theme.
Middle School
Exago, the Greek term for the development of Christian leaders, is a required course for students in grades five and six. Through lessons and hands on Ropes course experiences, students explore and embrace adolescent challenges from a Christian leadership perspective
Students in grades seven and eight have the opportunity to take an elective semester course entitled Biblical Leaders that explores many historical and Biblical leaders and how they answered God's call in their lives.
Upper School
Students are required to take two semester-long courses in Religious Studies during their Upper School years from the following offerings:
- Old Testament Survey
- New Testament Survey
- World Religions
- Life of Christ
- Faith and Film
