Finding Truth in Ugnada

Since 2004, the FRA Panthers have not won the Homecoming football game, but that all changed on September 25, 2009.  FRA defeated Lancaster Christian by a rousing score of 35-0 to achieve victory for the massive homecoming crowd.
Athletic Director Coach Kurt Page said, "Our homecoming theme was heated up with the ‘Cajun Invasion’ tailgate before the game, and our team, with full support of our student body, started fast winning our first homecoming game since '04."
The first half was where all of the spectacular action happened.  Doug Page rushed for 145 yards which included three touchdowns.  Also, Connor Maitland had two interceptions one of which he returned almost 70 yards for a touchdown.
Doug Page has really come into his own on both the offensive and defensive sides of the football this year.  On offense as quarterback, he has 698 yards of rushing offense on 76 carries which includes eight touchdowns.  Also, in the first five games of the season, he is 11/21 passing with 280 yards and three touchdown passes.  As for defense, he has twenty-three tackles playing at the linebacker position.
After a defeat by the Webb School, the Panthers were able to recover and put on an awesome show for all of the fans attending the homecoming game.  The defense was spectacular, and Lancaster Christian did not score once.  The Panthers started off the game with a winning attitude as they scored all 35 points in the first half.
The Panthers look to take on Zion Christian Academy down in Columbia on Saturday, October 3rd.  Everyone should try to make it out to a game to support our Panthers!
