Finding Truth in Ugnada

There are many debates going on today whether on the issue of healthcare or the war on terror. However, there is another discussion rising up in people’s minds and that is energy solutions in our country. We are America, the big brother of all countries in this world. The United States is a part of and that is the Organization for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD), an international association composed of thirty leading countries. According to the OECD, North America itself consumed about 50.6% of energy used in the world. Different and cleaner sources of energy have been emerging ever since the Jimmy Carter administration. President Barack Obama believes that “we have a choice to make.  We can remain one of the world's leading importers of foreign oil, or we can make the investments that would allow us to become the world's leading exporter of renewable energy.  We can let climate change continue to go unchecked, or we can help stop it.  We can let the jobs of tomorrow be created abroad, or we can create those jobs right here in America and lay the foundation for lasting prosperity." Many people in this country have not heard of different types of energy or don’t really know much about them. Yes, we did start the hybrid cars and think of other new ideas, but we really haven’t put these ideas into play. Not many people in this country have heard of different types of energy, but don’t really know much about them. In the United States of America, energy hasn’t been considered a national issue, and healthcare, military, and economy right now are the main concerns. However, there is a new mentality among our leaders about the different types of energy in our countries today, and the most common energies are oil and petroleum, nuclear, bio-fuels and ethanol, natural gas, solar, and wind. I will be discussing a different source of energy in each upcoming newspaper edition that our country can try to move forward into. I will not only talk about the upside of all of these energy sources but also the downside. Energy is an important part of our country because it is how we run, and it is important for everyone one to understand it.
