Finding Truth in Ugnada

When you get older, you get busier, and it gets harder to make healthy choices at lunch.  You are more and more tempted to grab a bag of chips, a soda, a roll, AND a cookie, but you can create a healthier lifestyle with just a few simple changes.  Instead of grabbing a soda or a Gatorade, you should grab a water bottle.  If you don’t like water, keep some of those crystal light packets in you locker so that you can turn regular water into flavored water.  Propel is also not a bad choice either.  Instead of getting chips or a roll you could get some carrot sticks or a salad.  Bringing your lunch is also a good way to ensure that you will have healthy choices.  This also cuts out the time it takes you to get your food, and it saves money too!  These choices can help everyone make a significant and healthy change in their eating habits.  We interviewed a few people to see what they ate for lunch.  Our first interviewee was Mrs. Wolf who normally eats a Lean Cuisine meal.  This is a very good choice because you can eat quickly and healthily.  Next, we interviewed Andy Smith.  “If there were healthier choices in the cafeteria I would make better choices,” says Andy, and freshman Laura O’Brien agrees.  We asked the last person we interviewed if they ate in the cafeteria.  She said, “I don’t eat in it this year because it is gross.”   We want to do whatever we can to change that.  Please e-mail us or stop us in the hall if you have any suggestions.
