By: Laura Duncan This year, FRA is home to thirteen new students, eleven freshmen and two juniors. Some transferred schools, and others come from different states such as junior Skylar Nock who has come all the way from Utah to join us in Music City. This year, almost all of the new students are planning on or already participating in a sport this Fall or Winter. Freshman Rachel Johnson has been playing with the FRA golf team since mid-July and is competing in tournaments weekly. This is our first year in HVAC’s Division II, which means that new and returning football players have been practicing hard so we can take a title this season. On Thursday the 27th of August, the freshman class went to the Brentwood YMCA for “Freshman Orientation.” More than any type of orientation this was a day of fun with the cricket spitting being only the beginning of messy and strange activities. After leaving the YMCA, new freshman Drew Jenkins said, “I think I got to know a lot of people better today.” During the activities, everyone got involved and had fun yelling and laughing with others. This is the second year of the orientation bringing together an entire class with unusual teambuilding activities.
