Have you ever seen an old fashioned sign advertising soda for 5 cents? Sadly, today 5 cents will buy you next to nothing. The economy is bad and money is tight. It is becoming harder for young people to find jobs. In fact, many older teens can't find jobs at even McDonald's because old folks are losing their retirement funds and going back to work. And let's face it, if you were an employer, which would you hire? The teen with no job experience that needs to be trained for hours, or the 59 year old who's been working for 40 years and knows the ropes? Sadly for us, the majority of employers pick the older contenders. The good news is the majority of students at FRA have a little bit of money on them at any given time. We asked three FRA students how much money they had. Drew Jenkins said he had $20; Alex Haselton had $10; and Erica Haselton had $40-50. To help you keep your wallet fat and happy, we’ve come up with ten ways to have fun in Nashville without breaking the bank.
