INTERIM
Interim is a school-wide, one-of-a-kind week where curiosity takes the lead, creativity thrives, and learning comes alive. Through hands-on, cross-curricular experiences, students of all ages explore new interests, discover hidden talents, and gain real-world skills that inspire a lifelong love of learning.
From the earliest grades, Interim invites students to dream big. Whether they are designing jewelry, crafting wooden projects, experimenting with science, exploring nature, playing sports, creating films, or diving into music and art, mixed-age groups encourage teamwork, leadership, and friendship as students engage in classes that are as unique as they are.
As students progress through middle and upper school, Interim expands into even greater adventures: traveling to historic cities, tackling outdoor challenges, participating in mission trips, shadowing professionals, or delving deep into specialized studies. Whether hiking in Alaska, exploring Washington, D.C., serving communities at home or abroad, shadowing a career professional, or discovering the hidden gems of Nashville, students build confidence, broaden perspectives, and make lasting memories.
Interim isn’t just a break from routine. It’s a launchpad for curiosity, compassion, and courage. It’s where passions are sparked, skills are strengthened, and students step into the world ready to make an impact.
Mission Trip
Each year during Interim, students may choose to spend a week serving others and spreading their love of Christ by participating in activities such as building structures, painting houses, leading devotions, and playing with the children in the local communities.
International and Domestic Trips
Students are given the opportunity to travel domestically or internationally. While traveling abroad, students experience diverse languages and cultures around the world, from wildlife excursions in Costa Rica and learning about historic art and architecture in Italy to attending football games in England.
Domestic trips also provide unique learning environments. Whether exploring the Big Island of Hawaii or enjoying a play on Broadway in New York City, students have the opportunity to take in the sights and sounds of some of our nation's most unique cities.
Local Experiences
Nashville is an ideal destination for students to explore, learn, and immerse themselves in the city's vibrant culture. Students have a variety of options, from touring historic Civil War sites and exploring the cultures of those who have immigrated to Nashville, to embarking on outdoor adventures in the city's beautiful parks, and taking classes in photography, woodworking, and yoga.
Job Shadowing and Entrepreneurial Ventures
Students may choose to spend the week shadowing a professional. These experiences provide students with the opportunity to delve deeply into a profession they may wish to pursue or explore a field that interests them.
