FRA's Innovation Labs embody a commitment to experiential learning, where students are encouraged to explore, create, and collaborate. By integrating technology with traditional education methods, these labs prepare students for future academic pursuits and careers in rapidly evolving fields. The goal is not only to teach technical skills but also to cultivate a mindset geared toward innovation and entrepreneurship.
Lower School
Our Lower School Innovation Lab sparks curiosity and transforms it into creation. Through project-based learning, students design, build, and problem-solve—developing skills that inspire a lifelong love of discovery. With opportunities like robotics for early coders, a student-led film production club, and a tinker space for budding inventors, big ideas begin early.
Middle School
In middle school, innovation becomes second nature. With individual tablets, students integrate technology into every class and explore specialized courses like digital design, programming, and AI. The Innovation Lab, equipped with 3D printers, a laser cutter, and a robotics arena, gives students the tools to imagine, create, and compete at local and national levels. From designing vinyl decals to engineering robotic solutions, students learn by doing and by daring to dream big.
Upper School
The upper school offers students unparalleled opportunities in STEM and biotechnology through our cutting-edge Innovation Lab and DNA Lab. The 2,000-square-foot Innovation Lab is equipped with 3D printers, a laser cutter, a robotics arena, a full machine shop, and advanced technology for design, engineering, and invention. The DNA Lab immerses students in real-world biotechnology, with professional-grade equipment for extracting, replicating, and analyzing genetic material. In these spaces, learning goes beyond textbooks as students gain the skills, confidence, and vision to innovate in a rapidly changing world.
