At FRA, athletics is an integral part of our community. Our students excel in the classroom while also competing at a high level in one or more sports. We currently have 23 graduates who are currently playing collegiate sports.

Football
Spencer Jones, FRA Class of 2016
Oklahoma University
Wide Receiver
Spence attended FRA from pre-kindergarten through grade 12 making him an FRA lifer. During his upper school career, he played football and basketball and was a member of the track and field team.
As a senior, he was named All-District, All-Mid-State, All-State, District Offensive Player of the Year, A Tennessee Mr. Football Semifinalist, and awarded the "Tradition of Service" award given by the Music City Bowl.
Off the field, Spence was involved in Best Buddies, Service Saturday, FRA Summer Camps, and Gram's Game Day. He was a student ambassador, involved in Young Life, served on student council and the Spirititual Emphasis Week committee.
He is currently playing football at the University of Oklahoma.
Tymon Mitchell, FRA Class of 2019
University of Georgia
Defensive Lineman
Tymon is a 2019 graduate who attended FRA for nine years. A standout athlete, he participated in football, wrestling, track and field, and basketball during his upper school tenure.
On the gridiron, Tymon was named to the All-District, All-Region, and All-State teams, and he was named Defensive Player of the Year and to the Dandy Dozen his senior year. He was also an All-State wrestler for the Panthers.
Tymon is currently playing football at the University of Georgia.
Eric Stoxstill Diggs, FRA Class of 2018

Safety
Eric graduated from FRA is 2018, and during his six years as a student, he excelled in both football and track and field.
His senior year, he was named All-Region and All-State in football and won the TSSAA Division II-A State Championship in 110 hurdles.
Eric was the FRA Fellowship of Christian Athletes president, a student ambassador, member of the FRA Emerging Leaders Program, was named to FRA's chapter of the Cum Laude Society, and was a member of the Honor Council and National Honor Society.
He is currently playing football at Cornell University.
Watson Tansil, FRA Class of 2018

Linebacker
Watson graduated in 2018 after attending FRA since pre-kindergarten. During his upper school career, he was a member of the varsity football and basketball teams.
He was named All-District in football during his sophomore and junior seasons, and during his senior season, he was named All-Region and All-State.
Watson was a member of the National Honor Society and the FRA chapter of the Cum Laude Society. He was also an active participant in Young Life, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Best Buddies, and he was an FRA student ambassador.
He also volunteered with the Special Olympics, FRA Youth Camps, and served on FRA mission trips to Jamaica and Nicaragua.
Watson is currently playing football at Columbia University.
Larry Wilhoite, FRA Class of 2016

Larry is a 2016 graduate of FRA, where he attended for five years. He played all four years on the varsity football team and was involved in basketball and track and field.
He was named All-District, All-Region, and All-State and was a participant in the 2015 Tennessee High School East/West All-Star Game. He was also recognized at the Hancock-Nipper Football Awards Banquet.
Larry was involved in the FRA Second Harvest project and participated in the baseball Interim project.
He is currently playing football at Tennessee State University.
Lance Wilhoite, FRA Class of 2019

Wide Receiver
Lance is a 2019 graduate, and during his eight years at FRA, he played on the varsity football, baseball, and track and field teams for the Panthers.
He earned All-District, District MVP, All-Region, and All-State Honors in football and was also a member of the Dandy Dozen his senior year.
Off the field, Lance was a member of the FRA Best Buddies club, worked as a Special Olympics volunteer, and has worked football camps at FRA.
He is currently playing football at the University of Oregon, where he plans to major in business.

Ryan Madondo, FRA Class of 2017

Forward
Ryan is a 2017 graduate, and he attended FRA for 13 years, making him part of the 12-year club. He was a member of the varsity soccer team for four years, ran cross country, and was the kicker on the football team during his senior year.
He was named All-District and All-Region his senior season and also served as the team captain.
Ryan is currently playing soccer at Valparaiso University.
Tashinga Vhumisai, FRA Class of 2019
Sewanee University
A 2019 graduate, Tashinga attended FRA for four years, and during that time, he was a member of the varsity soccer team all four years and team captain of the Panthers for two years. He has been named All-District, All-Region, and FRA's offensive player of the year.
Tashinga excelled on the pitch and in the classroom, serving as student body president, writing center tutor, member of the the philosophy club, and junior class president. He was also named most outstanding freshman and sophomore by his teachers, was a member of the National Honor Society and the FRA Heads and Dean Lists.
He is currently playing soccer at Sewanee: The University of the South, where he plans to study medicine.

Sydney Hunt, FRA Class of 2016

Defender
Sydney is a 2016 graduate of FRA, where she attended for four years. She was a member of the varsity soccer team all four years of upper school and also participated in basketball, cross country, and track.
She was named All-District, All-Region, All-Mid-State, All-State, and FRA MVP in 2012, 2014, and 2015 and was also the Region MVP her senior year.
Sydney was also very involved in the FRA community, including Gram's Game Day, Best Buddies, and Interact Club. She was a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and Science Olympiad.
She is currently playing soccer at DePaul University.
Maeve Kelly, FRA Class of 2017

Midfielder
Maeve graduated in 2017 and is part of the FRA 12-year club, having attended FRA for 14 years. She competed on the varsity soccer and track and field teams as an upper school student.
She was named All-District and All-Region, as well as FRA's Defensive Player MVP twice and Offensive MVP her senior year.
When not on the soccer pitch, Maeve participated in mission trips to Honduras and Uganda, and she was a member of the FRA Best Buddies program.
She is currently playing soccer at Austin Peay University. She previously played at University of Tennessee, Chattanooga.
Sydney Malham, FRA Class of 2017

Goalie
Sydney, who graduated in 2017, attended FRA for eight years. She was a member of the varsity soccer team for four years.
During her FRA soccer career, she was named All-District and All-Region, and she was named a TSSAA 2017 Hall of Fame Honoree after her U18 travel soccer team won the National Championship.
Sydney earned Magna Cum Laude honors for her performance on the National Latin Exam and was a member of the FRA band/pep band. She also volunteered at the FRA Summer Soccer Camps.
She is currently playing soccer at Ohio University.
DANCE
Allison Clark, FRA Class of 2018
University of Tennessee
At FRA, Allison was a part of student council all 4 years of high school along with being on the football cheer team. She also participated in every year of Cocoa and Carols since 5th grade and Evening with the Arts all 4 years of high school as well.
Now, she is at the University of Tennessee. She am a Kinesiology major and intend on graduating in 2022. She am currently going into my 3rd year on the University of Tennessee Dance Team. She and her teammates dance on the sidelines at football, basketball, and even volleyball games.
Along with all of this, they do appearances for various events and compete at UDA college nationals in January. This past nationals they won their 6th national championship and our 1st national championship in the D1A Pom category. Along with being on the dance team, she is in the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority.

Kenny Cooper, FRA Class of 2016

Kenny is a 2016 graduate of FRA, where he excelled in both basketball and baseball during his seven years as a Panther.
As a senior, he was named All-State, All-Region, All-District MVP, All-Mid-State 3rd Team, and Mr. Basketball Finalist. After his junior campaign, he was named All-State, All-Region, All-District MVP, and Mr. Basketball Finalist. He is also a member of FRA's 1,000-Point Club.
Kenny also left his mark on the baseball diamond, earning All-District, All-Region, All-Mid-State, and All-State honors. As a senior, he led the Panthers to a TSSAA State Championship.
He is currently playing basketball at Western Kentucky University after a stint at Lipscomb University.

Riley Casey, FRA Class of 2017

Guard
Riley is a 2017 graduate of FRA, where she was a member of the varsity basketball and soccer teams.
As a senior, she was named All-District MVP and was named to the TSWA All-State, All-District Tournament, and All-Region Tournament teams. She was named to the All-District, All-Region, and TSWA All-State teams as well as the All-State Tournament team as a junior. During her sophomore campaign, she was named All-District, All-Region, the Sevierville Classic MVP, and the All-State tournament team. She is also a member of FRA's 1,000-Point Club, a feat she accomplished in only three years.
Off the court, Riley was secretary of the Student Council, an officer in the FRA chapter of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, a student ambassador, and member of Best Buddies, the international club, and service club. She was also a member of the National Honor Society.
Riley is currently playing basketball at Columbia University.
Taylor Casey, FRA Class of 2016

Taylor is a 2016 graduate, and during her two years at FRA, she lettered in varsity basketball and soccer.
In basketball, she was named to the All-District and All-Region teams during her senior year and the All-State tournament team as a junior.
Taylor was a member of the National Honor Society, Best Buddies, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Mu Alpha Theta. She was a Princeton Book Award recipient and was also named to the annual Heads List and an AP scholar with distinction.
Taylor is currently playing basketball for Washington and Lee University.

Cheerleader
Paige is a 2019 graduate after attending FRA for four years. During her upper school career, she was on the varsity cheer squad all four years and also ran on the cross country and track and field teams.
Paige was involved in the FRA community, creating Club 4680 and serving as president of the honor council and as student body secretary. She was a member of the Cum Laude Society, Honor Society, and FRA's Heads and Deans Lists.
She is currently on the spirit squad at Loyola Marymount University.

Angelina Chan, FRA Class of 2019

Golf
A 2019 graduate, Angelina attended FRA for six years, and during that time, she became the most decorated golfer in school history. She was the two-time individual state champion (2015 and 2018), two-time team state champion (2017 and 2018), five-time individual region champion (2015-2018), and two-time district individual and team champion (2017 and 2018).
Angelina also excelled in the classroom and in music. She was secretary of the National Honor Society, member of the Science Olympiad, vice president of the Jazz Ensemble, tutor in the writing center, and participant in Evening with the Arts and Cocoa & Carols. She was also a member of Mu Alpha Theta, Cum Laude Society, service club, gamer club, and philosophy club, and she was an annual FRA Heads List member, AP scholar with distinction, and class valedictorian.
She is currently playing golf at the United States Naval Academy.

Josh Holtschlag, FRA Class of 2019

Golf
Josh is a 2019 graduate and a member of the 12-club, having attended since kindergarten. He is one of the most decorated golfers in FRA history, winning three region championships and two state runner up titles. He is the only player in the TSSAA Division II era to finish in the top 10 all four years at that state tournament, and he is a four-time All-State golfer and holds the FRA 9-hole school record with a score of 30.
Josh was also active in the community. He was a member of Club 4680, philosophy club, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes, as well as a student ambassador, member of the FRA Deans List, and was named to the American Junior Golf Association Transamerica Junior All-American Team honor roll.
Josh is currently playing golf at Bucknell University.
Baseball
Peyton Warren, FRA Class of 2016
University of West Alabama
Pitcher
Peyton, a 2016 graduate, attended FRA for four years, during which time he participated on the varsity baseball team and served as the team manager for the Panther football team.
On the baseball diamond, he was named to the All-District and All-Region teams, as well as the all-tournament teams for the WWBA 15-and-under national championship team and Southwest qualifier for the WWBA.
He is currently playing baseball at the University of West Alabama.

J Ross, FRA Class of 2019
Centre College
J attended FRA for seven years, and during that time, he was a member of the varsity baseball and football teams. He was named All-Region first team in both sports as well as All-Region second team in football. On the baseball diamond, J has a career batting average of 3.17, with 85 hits, five home runs, and 71 RBIs. During his senior season, he earned All-District honors with a .324 batting average, and he led the team with four home runs, 22 RBIs, a .606 slugging percentage, and 1.006 OPS.
J will continue his baseball career at Centre College in Danville, Kentucky, this spring.

Jake Templin, FRA Class of 2019
DePauw University
A 2019 graduate, Jake attended FRA for three years.
He was a member of the varsity baseball and football teams for three years at FRA. He is also involved in the FRA community as a member of the FRA Best Buddies program and volunteer for Special Olympics Flag Football State Championships. Jake was also a student ambassador and a coach for youth baseball. He was also named to the FRA Deans List for three years.
He will continue his baseball career at DePauw University.
Men's Track & Field
Drake Mitchell, FRA Class of 2016
Belmont University
Multi
Drake attended FRA for six years before graduating in 2016. In addition to his four years on the track & field team, he was also a four-year member of the varsity wrestling team and two-year member of the football team.
In track & field, he was All-State in the triple jump, high jump, and decathlon. His senior year, he was named MVP of the Division II-A Invitational and was invited to compete at Nashville's Great Eight Meet three times. Drake departed FRA as the record holder in the high jump with a mark of 6'5" and the triple jump with a leap of 45'4.5."
In wrestling, Drake finished fourth at the TSSAA Division II State Championships twice.
He was also involved in the Jazz Ensemble and was a student ambassador.
He is currently on the track & field team at Belmont University.
Alex Gales, FRA Class of 2019
High Point University
Pole Vault
Alex graduated in 2019 after attending FRA for eight years. During his high school tenure, he excelled as a pole vaulter on the track and field team and was a member of the FRA bowling team.
Alex won the TSSAA Division II Class A Middle Region Championship and TSSAA Division II Class A State Championship in both his junior and senior years. He also won the Nashville City Meet and Montgomery ACA Invitational during his career.
Alex as also a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and served on mission trips to Boston and Mobile with his church.
He will be pole vaulting at High Point University.

Samantha Shafer, FRA Class of 2019
University of North Alabama
Samantha Shafer, a 2019 graduate, attended FRA for two years, and during that time, she made a huge impact on the varsity girls volleyball team.
Off the court, Samantha was an active participant in Best Buddies, Service Club, Young Life, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She also participated in the Special Olympics Flag Football State Championships, FRA's Empty Bowls, and hurricane relief service efforts. Samantha was also a member of FRA's Deans List.
She is currently playing beach volleyball at the University of North Alabama.
