FRA Honors All Branches of the Military During Veterans Day Assembly
FRA students, faculty, and staff gathered Monday to honor veterans who have served our country, including nine alumni currently on active duty.
Johnny Dorris Jr., 1LT, US Army, FRA Class of 1983, spoke to the assembly gathered, which included 40 guest veterans. He shared how his experiences at FRA helped prepare him for his service in the military and his continued life of service as a Christian. Dr. Fred Frawley, LTC US Army (Ret.), served as the master of ceremonies.
The FRA Vocal Ensemble, directed by Brenda Jewell, performed service songs from each military branch as Dr. Frawley recognized the branch and veterans who served in those branches stood, including one World War II veteran who served in the Coast Guard, Zina G. Mitchell, Coach Tucker's father-in-law. Nik Simpson, FRA's director of alumni relations, recognized the nine alumni currently serving in the military.
Congratulations to Lee Anna Chen '19, who is a freshman at Yale University, spent three weeks at the Google office in Cambridge as part of the Computer Science Summer Institute.
FRA is excited to welcome Nikki Simpson as its new director of alumni relations. With 24 years of experience, Nik has a diverse background in advancement, including expertise in relationship building, fundraising, and event management, and she brings a passion for education and a true philanthropic approach to life.

FEATURE: FRA CONNECTIONS
ANDREW '07 AND CHASE '07
"When we were 14, our parents told us that if we wanted cars when we turned 16, we had to pay for them ourselves. We decided to start an auto detailing company, Extreme Detailers, where we built a large customer base throughout Nashville/Brentwood. Most clients were in Chase’s parents’ neighborhood, so we would walk to each client every weekend and sometimes before school. By the time we turned 16, we were able to afford the cars we wanted."
