MUSIC

Lorem Ipsum Dolor

Music is a vital part of the arts experience at FRA. Our dedicated music educators cultivate confidence, creativity, and a lifelong appreciation for music by providing students with the skills, guidance, and opportunities to explore their artistic potential. Through both performance and practice, students discover the joy of creating and sharing music.

Lower School

Students are introduced to music through an approach that honors their natural curiosity and instinctive responses to sound. Our teachers use a variety of engaging tools and techniques to help young learners explore their expressive abilities and discover the joy of communicating through music.

Throughout the year, students have opportunities to sing and play instruments in both informal and formal settings, building confidence and fostering a lifelong passion through the creative process.

Middle School

In fifth and sixth grade, students get the opportunity to select a music specialty band or vocal. In seventh and eighth, other options open up as well, such as vocal, band, general music, theater, or broadcast. Through the study of diverse genres and styles, the program emphasizes the development of strong technical skills while fostering collaboration, adaptability, and self-confidence.

Students in band and vocal ensembles perform throughout the year in both informal and formal settings. For those seeking to further their musical growth, auditioning for advanced ensembles offers opportunities to perform and participate in workshops at the local and national levels.

Upper School

Upper School students benefit from a dynamic, diverse music curriculum designed to deepen their skills and broaden their musical understanding. Ensembles, including concert and jazz bands, vocal music, beginning guitar, and AP music theory for 11th and 12th-grade students, offer all experience levels the opportunity to perform challenging repertoire while continuing to grow as musicians. These groups also foster meaningful connections, bringing together students who share a passion for music.

In addition, the program offers music production courses that explore the intersection of music and innovation. Using industry-standard tools and digital platforms, students gain hands-on experience in composing, producing, recording, and performing music, developing both creative and practical skills that extend beyond the classroom.
