Every year, the arts department presents the Frankies, which are given to upper school students who show passion, leadership and study outside of the realm of the classroom. On Wednesday, the 2018 Frankies were given. We also celebrated those seniors who plan to pursue arts in college. Congratulations to all of our talented arts students for a great year!
At FRA, the arts are a priority, and our arts offerings complement our intellectual, athletics, and spiritual pursuits, lending a creative outlet to let students' minds solve problems in unexpected new ways.
Our students are encouraged to explore various forms of art as they progress through middle and upper school, and many of our graduates are pursuing their artistic passions in college and beyond.
Congratulations to junior Maddie Cunnigham and sophomore Jaden Holtschlag for being accepted to the Governor's School of the Arts, a four-week long summer program for high school students gifted in music, visual art, theatre, dance, and filmmaking. They were two of 230 students accepted from the 1400 applicants.
Last month, seniors Katherine Holman and Ansley Moore attended the National Unified Auditions in New York. More than 25 top universities from all over the nation, as well as some international universities, were at these auditions, where students auditioned for different positions in the theatre department.
