Gales, Carroll, and Stoxstill-Diggs Claim Championships, Panthers Excel in Track and Field State Championships

The Panthers put on a show at the TSSAA Track and Field State Championships, which were held in Murfreesboro. Alexander Gales, Campbell Carroll, and Eric Stoxstill-Diggs were recently crowned state champions in their individual events, 19 members of the team medaled, and the boys team was the state runner up.

Senior Claire Luthy to Compete in TSSAA Tennis State Championships

Senior Claire Luthy will play in the TSSAA Girls Tennis State Championships in Murfreesboro on Thursday, May 24, at Old Fort Park. Luthy, who was the middle region singles runner up, will have her first match at 10:30 a.m.

Boys Track & Field Team Captures TSSAA D-II Class A Region Championship; Girls Finish Fifth

After taking a commanding lead with 87 points in the Region Championship Field Events, the FRA boys track squad returned to the track for the running finals and scored another 93 points for a total of 180 to capture the TSSAA Division II Class A Region Championship. The FRA girls team finished in fifth place as well out of a 12 team field. The Panthers have qualified six girls for the TSSAA State Championships in five events and the boys team qualified 12 boys in 20 events for the TSSAA State Championships. The TSSAA D-II Class A State Track & Field State Meet will be held at Middle Tennessee State University.

Varsity Boys Soccer Team Heads to Elite Eight

The varsity boys soccer team earned a birth to the TSSAA Elite Eight with an exhilarating 4-3 OT victory against Harding Academy on Tuesday. The Panthers jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a Josh Holtschlag header goal on a pass from Mason Price. Harding answered quickly tying the game 1-1. Pablo Ramos then scored the Panthers second goal to take a 2-1 lead, only to see the lions roar back with consecutive goals to take a 3-2 lead with 27 minutes remaining in the second half. Tashinga Vhumisai then scored on a free kick with 12:30 remaining in regulation where the score would remain. In the second overtime, Gonzalo de Gracia's goal in the second overtime to put FRA on top for good with a 4-3 victory! The Panthers will hit the road tomorrow to face the one seed from the east in the form of Boyd Buchannan High School. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
