We believe that true success begins with well-being. That’s why our approach to health and wellness nurtures the whole person, body, mind, and spirit, empowering students to thrive both in and out of the classroom.
From pre-k to grade 12, our comprehensive wellness program supports students through every stage of development. With a proactive focus on mental health, social-emotional growth, and the realities of today’s digital world, our programming equips students with the tools they need to build confidence, resilience, and healthy habits that last a lifetime.
Our dedicated team includes two full-time school nurses, four professional counselors, and a wellness department chair who, together, provide daily support, guidance, and care across all divisions. Wellness at FRA is not limited to the student experience. We extend that care to families as well. Through robust parent education programming, we partner with families to provide insight and strategies on topics such as mental health awareness, digital citizenship, adolescent development, and healthy communication.
Our counseling program is thoughtfully designed to meet the developmental needs of students at every stage. In the lower school, students engage in explicit social-emotional learning instruction, where they build foundational skills centered around our core values: integrity, respect, empathy, responsibility, and problem solving. Additional lessons cover peer-conflict and friendship skills, executive functioning skills, and digital citizenship.
In the middle and upper school, students participate in advisory programs that provide consistent, small-group time with trusted adults. Advisory sessions focus on a wide range of topics, including identity development, mental health awareness, digital citizenship, conflict resolution, academic habits, and leadership skills. These conversations help students build meaningful relationships, reflect on personal growth, and navigate the challenges of adolescence with confidence and support.
