Remote Learning Plan

Beginning Monday, March 23, we will implement our remote learning plan, which will allow us to continue to deliver dynamic and interactive learning experiences to our students while not meeting on campus. In accordance with current guidelines and for the well-being of our students, the remote learning period has been extended through the remainder of the school year. Our final day of school will be Tuesday, May 19. This will be the last day of academic programming in lower school. Middle and upper school final assessments will also conclude on or before this date. This web page includes important details regarding the remote learning plan for each division and will be regularly updated with current information.

Discovery Fridays

We recognize the importance and need for variety, innovation, and student choice as key motivators to successful learning and engagement. On Fridays, our students will dedicate their time to identifying their passions, improving skills, or exploring a subject of particular interest.

Launch Series
Students, parents, and faculty are encouraged to join us for a Zoom presentation each week hosted by members of the FRA community who have expertise in a specific field and will share their story of how they got started and where they see their industry going in this environment.

Virtual Art Show

During our remote learning experience, we want to continue to recognize the incredible work being done by our students. Please take a minute to visit our virtual art show, which features work from students across all three divisions.

Event Cancellations

Effective immediately, all after-school activities, co-curricular programs, and athletics will be suspended until we return to normal campus activity. When possible, student activities and performing arts rehearsals will take place using our online platform. All other performances, shows, school trips, and in-person club meetings are suspended while the remote learning plan is in effect. We understand that this is extremely disappointing to all of our students who have spent so much time preparing for these activities.

Technical Support

We will have technical support available throughout the remote learning period. Any student or parent needing support can contact the technology department by emailing helpdesk@franklinroadacademy.com. We are prepared to offer full technology support to all students and families to ensure the success of the remote learning plan. If you need assistance accessing reliable internet, please notify us as soon as possible by email the technology department.

Student Support

We understand that some students may have difficulty learning remotely. A variety of circumstances including, caring for younger siblings, curriculum format, or class pace can cause frustration. We are committed to helping our students and families through this transition to remote learning. Our teachers, advisors, and counselors are prepared to provide support and guidance to promote an effective, remote learning experience for all of our student. Contact information for these individuals can be accessed here.

Personal Responsibility

In order for virtual learning to be effective, it must also be accompanied by a variety of personal responsibilities. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends using necessary social distancing as a way to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) would like parents to discourage their children from gathering in public places during a school closure to help slow the spread of coronavirus in the community.  In addition, we suggest offering daily reminders to your family on the importance of covering coughs and washing hands. Campus Cleaning

While we are off campus, our cleaning staff will continue to clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using Clorox Total 360 electrostatic spraying system and PURE Bioscience disinfectant to ensure the continued safety and well-being of our students when they return to school.
