Spring Panther Athletics Are In Full Swing

Over the past week, FRA Athletics has seen giant successes in many different areas. We are so proud of each of these teams, athletes, and coaches for all they’re up to this spring.

Brooks Bannerman and the Cheerville Anarchy team competed in the World Championship of All Star Cheerleading April 23-25, 2022. On April 25th,  they were crowned World Champions in the Level 6 XSmall Coed Division. We are so excited for Brooks and his cheer team.
The middle school spring golf season has come to a close. Our girls golf team ended the season beating Lipscomb Academy 36 to 42 strokes. The ladies birdied their first hole and stayed strong throughout the entire round.
The middle school boys golf team had a great run this season. The team got second place two of their four matches. They also beat CPA 127 to 130. Walker Webb had the low score of the day in every round. In the HVAC Championships on Monday Walker received second place. Walker shot a low score of 34. Waller McMillin and Robert Neilson also competed in the tournament. Waller shot a 44 and Robert shot a 55. The team placed seventh at the event.

The fifth and sixth grade track team competed in the Melvin Black Track League Finals over the weekend. We had a lot of second place finishes from Ava Zenner in the 600m, Cole Lankford in the 400m, Michael Walsh in the 200m, and our boys 4x1m Relay. Michael Walsh also received third in the 1600m. In fourth place Cole Lankford in the 100m, Ava Zenner in the 400m, and in the 200m. Finally, our fifth-place award winners were Aidan Sanders in the 100m, Michael Walsh in the 400m, and our boys 4x4 relay. Mary Ellen received sixth in the 1600m.
Our middle school team had some winners of their own in the HVAC Championship. Keira Bulluck received first in the 100m, and fourth in the 200m. Adam Crocker received second place in the 100m. Weston Smith landed in fourth for the 800m and sixth in the 1600m. It was a great showing from our middle school track team.
Finally, in the Great 8 qualifiers last week, our upper school team competed really well with lots of personal bests. For shot put, Josiah Jackson received second place with his personal best 52 ½ feet. A school record was also broken by Griffin Frankfather, Thatcher Frankfather, Jonathon Wilson, and Jeremiah Greer in the 4x100m with a time of 42.49 seconds. They received third place for this time. Payton Culp got first place in the pole vault with 15 feet. Thatcher Frankfather received second place in the triple jump with 42.9 feet, and first in the 400m dash with 48.81, also beating his own personal record. Annie Trapp got fourth place in the 300IM hurdles with 48.11 seconds, setting her own personal record. Jeremiah Greer got fourth place in the 200M dash with 22.10 seconds, setting his own personal record.
We are so proud of our track team’s success on all levels and look forward to seeing how the next couple of weeks end up with our upper school track team.

Congratulations to all of our incredible spring athletes and all they’ve accomplished so far this season!
