Varsity Girls Win Region Championship

The varsity girls basketball team defeated CPA 41-26 to win the TSSAA Division II Class A Middle Region Championship. The Panthers were led by sophomore Zharia Hutchinson, who had 17 points. Eighth grader Kennedy Cambridge added nine in the victory. 

Hutchinson, Cambridge, and senior Jesse Heldman were named to the All-Region Team, with Hutchinson being named MVP.

Wrestlers Finish Strong in State Tournament

Congratulations to the Tymon Mitchell, Drew White, and Ethan Rhoden for a strong showing in the TSSAA State Wrestling Championships on Saturday. Mitchell finished third in the 285-pound division; White finished sixth in the 145-pound weight class; and Rhoden finished sixth in the 106-pound division. 

Maddie Cunningham, Jaden Holtschlag Accepted to Governor's School for the Arts

Congratulations to junior Maddie Cunnigham and sophomore Jaden Holtschlag for being accepted to the Governor's School of the Arts, a four-week long summer program for high school students gifted in music, visual art, theatre, dance, and filmmaking. They were two of 230 students accepted from the 1400 applicants.

Seventh Grader Savannah O'Donoghue Wins FRA Geography Bee; Moves to State Competition

Congratulations to seventh grader Savannah O'Donoghue, who won the FRA competition of the National Geographic be on January 25 and a chance at a $50,000 college scholarship. The school Bee, at which students answered questions on geography, was the first round in the 30th annual National Geographic Bee, a geography competition designed to inspire and reward students' curiosity about the world.
