Three Athletes Sign Letters of Intent to Play at Collegiate Level

Congratulations to Alexander Gales, Josh Holtschlag, and Samantha Shafer, who signed letters of intent to play at the collegiate level on Wednesday. Gales will pole vault at High Point University; Holtschlag has signed to play golf at Bucknell University; and Shafer will continue her volleyball career at the University of North Alabama.

FRA Stuns Notre Dame to Advance to the TSSAA Division II-AA State Semifinals

Dramatic. Unbelievable. Resilient. Heroic.

When the Panther football players strapped on their gear Friday night, they knew what was ahead of them – a battle, against the tough number one seed from the east Notre Dame team (10-1), away from home, for the opportunity to advance to the TSSAA Division II-A State Semifinals for the first time since 2001.  They couldn’t have imagined, though, the way it would all play out. A slow start. An uphill climb. A comeback win. It was all of those things as the Panthers defeated the Fighting Irish 34-33 in a game that won’t soon be forgotten.

Varsity Girls Golf Wins Second Consecutive State Title; Boys Finish Third as Historic Season Concludes

The historic FRA varsity golf season came to a dramatic end on Tuesday as the girls team repeated as TSSAA Division II-A State Champions and the boys team finished third in the state. 

Senior Angelina Chan won her second individual state title, and sophomore Tzunami Polito finished as state runner up for the second time. Senior Josh Holtschlag finished his incredible season as state runner up on the boys side as he led the young Panther squad to its top-three finish. 

Chan and Holstchlag are two of the most decorated golfers in FRA history.

Gales, Carroll, and Stoxstill-Diggs Claim Championships, Panthers Excel in Track and Field State Championships

The Panthers put on a show at the TSSAA Track and Field State Championships, which were held in Murfreesboro. Alexander Gales, Campbell Carroll, and Eric Stoxstill-Diggs were recently crowned state champions in their individual events, 19 members of the team medaled, and the boys team was the state runner up.

Girls Lacrosse Team Nets First Win in Program History

In its inaugural season, the FRA girls lacrosse team captured its first win in program history with a 12-7 victory over Harpeth High School on Tuesday. Coach Callahan Kent said about the win, "On defense, the girls stayed in man-to-man, won the majority of the ground balls, and improved on the communication as the game went on, and on offense, they passed with precision and power around the 8 meter. They worked so hard, and I am so proud of everything they have accomplished so far this season."

Varsity Girls Basketball Team Advances to State Championship

The varsity girls basketball team will play in the TSSAA Division II Class A State Championship after defeating University School of Jackson 53-48 on Thursday. The Panthers were led by eighth grader Kennedy Cambridge, who had 16 points, seven rebounds, and four assists. Freshman Iris Heldman added 14 points, including four three-pointers.
