Sports Camps
FRA is excited to offer a variety of sports camps for kindergarten through 10th grade students! From the novice to the expert, our sports camps are designed for all ability levels to promote a love for the sport and to build and refine skills.
FRA’s sports camps are facilitated by our coaching staff of professionals who love the game and helping campers meet their athletic goals and full potential. We offer half- and full-day options to support athletes who want to prepare for the upcoming sports season, receive extra practice in a fun learning environment, or learn the art of a new sport entirely. We are excited to bring kids together through active play, competition, and fun!

WEEK ONE — June 5 - 9
AM CAMP OFFERINGS
Baseball
GRADES: 2 - 8

The FRA Baseball camp is designed for athletes who are either beginning in the sport or looking to improve their fundamentals. Attendees will learn specific defensive and offensive skills, base running, pitching and catching. At the end of the week players will have the opportunity to practice real game situations in a fun and energetic atmosphere.
Required Equipment: glove, cleats preferred but tennis shoes are ok, face mask (infielders and pitchers), catchers need their own catching gear. Optional but recommended (bat, batting helmet, pants.)
Nerf Rivals
GRADES: 2 - 6

Campers will battle with Nerf blasters in multiple team games and in some individual games. Play capture the flag, the hunger games, single elimination and more. You’ll only stop playing when you’re out of breath or for a quick water break. We will provide the Nerf Blaster and eye-wear protection during camp.
POM POM Camp
GRADES: 3 - 5

Rising 3rd through 5th-grade girls will get the chance to learn pom basics and dance skills from two of the middle school and upper school dance team coaches! We will have a blast dancing, making friends, and learning new techniques.
Putt Putt Camp
GRADES: 1 - 5

Whether you are brand new to golf or you’ve been playing for a while, this camp is for you! We will work on the basics and mechanics of the putting stroke. Campers will learn golf etiquette so they can celebrate their holes-in-one with class. We will channel our inner Pete Dye and design our very own putt-putt / mini golf course on FRA’s campus. To top it all off, campers will travel to a putt-putt course to test their skills and see how much they’ve improved throughout the week. Any equipment needed will be provided, but each camper is welcome to bring his or her favorite putter from home. This camp is hosted by FRA’s golf coach, Hayden Copeland. You know what you say… “drive for show, putt for dough!”
Tennis

This year marks the fourth summer that Coach Madison has worked in delivering high-quality instruction and training for aspiring tennis stars. Coach Madison has been head girls' tennis coach at FRA for three years now and has worked to develop hundreds of junior players, many of whom learned the game through their summer camps, who are now top players on their middle and high school tennis teams throughout Williamson and Davidson Counties. This camp is for all tennis players.
Volleyball Serve, Pass, and Attack Camp
GRADES: 5 - 6

This camp is exactly what it implies, skill work and reps on serving, passing, and attacking. We will use short lectures describing proper techniques for serving, passing, hitting, and attacking. This is followed by demonstrations from our high school and college helpers, in addition to a few players in attendance. Then we will break out for drills and reps with respect to each girl's skill. This camp is for all younger players wanting to learn the proper way to master the 3 most common volleyball skills. We try to make camp move faster by building in games and challenges, but the overarching goal is to teach skills and form a solid volleyball base. Minor scrimmaging will also take place but is not the focus of this camp

The goal of this camp is to introduce athletes to the fundamentals of speed, agility and strength training. Athletes will be able to explore the weight room and focus on body weight exercises and moving in space in multiple directions. Technique and proper form will be the emphasis in everything we do. We will use all the basics that elite athletes across the board are using. Campers will need cleats, tennis shoes and water bottle.

Basic Golf Skills Camp

Want to brush up on your golf skills over the summer? This camp is the perfect place to improve your golf game. Campers will have access to FRA’s Practice Center which features two bays equipped with Trackman technology. This includes games like Closest to the Pin, Long Drive and other programs designed to help golfers improve while having fun. We will also use FRA’s campus to practice our short game where students will create their own Par 3 courses. We’ll have a little fun and recreate the All Sports Golf Battle as seen on Dude Perfect. This camp is designed for kids to have fun while learning about golf, and thus not a substitute for private lessons or clinics. Hosted by FRA’s golf coach, Hayden Copeland. *It is recommended that campers have some golf experience. Campers will need to provide their own clubs.
Dodgeball
GRADES: 1 - 6

Join us for some fun with the classic competitive game of dodgeball! Campers will enjoy this sport using foam dodgeballs in a safe atmosphere. Campers will need tennis shoes, water bottle and athletic attire.

Football camp gives young players the opportunity to improve their skill level no matter their experience. Whether you are a first-time player or a prime-time player, you will be challenged in a way that lets you improve your fundamental skills during the week. FRA is pleased to host Tennessee’s first junior pickleball camp. The game with the funny name is the fastest growing sport in the US and a great way introduce your child(ren) to fun, athletic competition. Pickleball is the ideal first sport for kids. The game is easier to play than tennis -- the racquet is shorter, the court smaller, and the ball slower. While combining elements of tennis, ping pong, and badminton, children often have an early appreciable satisfaction with pickleball—greater contact with the ball, longer rallies, and the gratification of quickly excelling at a new sport.

Boys Basketball Camp

This camp is organized by Coach David Gallagher (FRA Varsity Boys Head Coach). Other FRA Basketball coaches and varsity players will help run the camp. The camp is geared towards the development of individual skills as well as the same team concepts in use by the varsity program. Players will be divided by age and ability. Prizes will be given out daily. The last day of camp will be filled with camp competitions. Join us for a week of Basketball FUNdamentals!

Dodgeball

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to compete for a title on a course played by professional golfers? Now is your chance! This week, FRA will host a simulator league at the indoor practice facility which includes two bays fully equipped with Trackman technology. Campers will use the Trackman combine and 9-hole courses such as Sweetens Cove to seed the bracket. Then campers will compete for FRA’s inaugural Middle School Golf Simulator League of Nashville title! Campers can compete for a golf trophy this summer while keeping cool in the air conditioning. This camp is hosted by FRA’s golf coach, Hayden Copeland.
HIKING Camp

Want to be your team's Libero or DS? This camp will take your defensive game to the next level. At this camp you'll be asked to dive, barrel roll, knee drop, collapse, run-thru, midline pass, angle pass, open hand dig, and even try some "one-armed gets". You'll be challenged to stay on your feet and make that play that you never thought you could. This camp will be like no other camp you will attend this summer because it's all defense. If you are a Libero, this camp is for you. If you want to play all the way around, then you need to add these skills to your arsenal.
Dude Perfect Trick Shots Camp

Campers will have the opportunity to create various athletic trick shots. We will have individual and team competitions throughout camp to see who will have the craziest and best stunts. Join us for lacrosse camp this summer! We have three amazing coaches with D1, D3, and club lacrosse experience ready to help spread their love of the game. Camp will consist of fundamental drills like improving stick work, teaching the basic rules of lacrosse, as well as going over attack and defense concepts. The coaches will give individualized attention and feedback to each player throughout the course of the 5 day camp. We hope you join us to learn about lacrosse and to have fun!
